July Morning is Bulgarian rockers and hippie tradition. Its name comes from Uriah Heep`s song July Morning
The evening before the first of July bulgarian hippies gather on remote places at the Bulgarian Seaside like Kamen Bryag, Kara Dere and Irakli, party and sing all night long until they meet sunrise on the first day of summer.
The act of meeting the sunrise is symbolic – it originates from the time of the late communism and symbolizes the rebellion against it, the new beginning that is coming and freedom.
Hippies prefer places like Kara Dere and Pasha Dere beach, with camp fires and guitars in the evening, while rockers go to Kamen Bryag, where there is a classic rock concert every year there.
