Plovdiv has been around as early as 6000 B.C., at the time Ancient Troy. It has been a city that belonged to the empire of Alexander The Great,under the name of Filipopolis. The city has been also Roman of the Roman empire and has many amazing roman ruins like the Roman Theater.
